Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 slices thick-cut Italian bread or sourdough
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan
- Italian seasoning
- Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Mix softened butter with minced garlic, parmesan, and a pinch of Italian seasoning.
- Spread the garlic butter on the OUTSIDE of both bread slices.
- Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium-low heat. Pile mozzarella on top. Add the second slice, butter-side up.
- Cook 3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
- Flip carefully and cook another 3 minutes. The garlic butter should be golden and fragrant.
- Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
Recipe Tips
- Medium-LOW heat is key — too hot and the garlic burns before the cheese melts.
- Thick-cut bread holds up better than thin sandwich bread.
- Add a few fresh basil leaves inside for a Caprese version.
- This + tomato soup = the ultimate comfort meal combo.
